In these new interludes, the artist DMX KREW realizes his personal vision of the well-known story by Jorge Luis Borges, The Library of Babel. Borges takes as a starting point to explain the universe two realities that are essential for the world of libraries: the library, as a physical space, as a continent, which also contains the greatest wealth that can be conceived as it is the compendium and sum of everything. human knowledge and understanding. But this place, this library is not a silent, uninhabited, inert space, but rather something alive, full of activity, guarded by librarians and used by all men, in turn librarians in search of giving meaning to their nature, to what that surrounds him, to the past, present and future of humanity. And here we have the other reality: librarians. Borges interprets that each man is a librarian, someone who inhabits and explores the infinite hexagons of the Library, in search of his particular interpretation of the world. Although it also establishes the figure of the librarian as custodian of books, of knowledge, as an interpreter who knows how to decipher all the mysteries that the Library contains inside, an official who has unraveled the content of the infinite Library that requires subjects who know how to keep it. and at the same time help men, all of them librarians, to find meaning in everything.

Winner of the Barbican Into the Unknown illustration competition.
Judge's Comment: ‘Guy's work is visually striking. He uses perspective and scale wonderfully to create a vision of the future that truly transports us. This print was one of the most evocative entry in my opinion, very cinematic and detailed, the skill of the illustration was truly accomplished. It felt really appropriate to the brief and exhibition audience. ’

Behind The Sky label boss and established electronic producer Bluetech returns with his first new music since 2019s two Billboard charting albums Sci-Fi Lullabies (top #10) and Holotrope (top #5). Originally slated for release early in 2020, the global pandemic and interruption in supply chains pushed the release until later in the year. Continuing Behind The Sky's mission to present new modular and analogue synthesizer music with a tip of the hat to classics of the genre, Underwater Cities features a gorgeous Moebius inspired original sleeve design by award winning UK illustrator Guy Warley.
Underwater Cities is a short but sweet nod to electro, detroit, warm vintage pads and the joy of vintage analogue synths. Using a restricted palette of sounds almost exclusively generated from the circuits of classic electronic gear like the Roland SH-101, TB-303, TR-808 and Juno 60, this release wades into unabashedly melodic territory with tongue firmly placed in cheek and a nod to the electronic music of Kirk Degiorgio, Dopplereffekt / Drexciya and the early work of Higher Intelligence Agency.
Underwater Cities contains five original tracks which range from aquatic beatless arpeggiated tracks with lush detroit inspired chord progressions to 808 driven acid lines as well as a remix... more
